Self Reflections is an established private practice in the heart of Wollongong with an experienced and dynamic multi-disciplinary team. We provide psychological and dietetic services for children, adolescents and adults in the Illawarra and surrounding areas.

OUR JOURNAY

Self Reflections grew from humble beginnings in 2017 into a well-known and trusted practice. We have recently expanded to help support the growing needs of our community. We plan to continue expanding into the largest private multi-disciplinary practice in Wollongong over the coming years.

 

CURRENT POSITIONS

Self Reflections is seeking Psychologists or Clinical Psychologists for full time or part time contractor positions ranging from early career to senior with an interest in the following:

  • Children (from 2yo), adolescents and adults (up to 70yo)
  • Various mental health presentations including but not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, personality disorders and eating disorders
  • Application of various modalities including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Schema Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy and/or Play Therapy

  • Brand new clinic: Self Reflections has recently expanded and refurbished our space. We currently have 6 beautifully appointed, large consulting rooms. We have a large, serviced reception area as well as additional seating throughout the clinic for clients along with a fully appointed kitchen/staff room that comfortably allows us to connect and relax during breaks.
  • Modern consulting rooms: Our interior designers have gone to immense detail to create warm, comfortable and inviting spaces for our team and clients to enjoy. We are very proud of the modern environment we have been able to create. All consulting rooms are equipped with phone and laptops for use, stationary as well as storage space.
  • Remuneration: We offer attractive rates to our contractors and ensure the majority of bookings are full fee paying. Our service fees increase per year and can be contractor specific.
  • Flexible work hours: We are currently open 7 days a week with hours ranging from 9am to 7pm. To help support a work/life balance, we encourage our team to choose their preferred hours.
  • Supervision: Individual supervision occurs as frequently as needed. Being part of a larger practice with such a diverse range of clinicians, skill sets, interests and levels of experience provides opportunity for group supervision to occur on a monthly basis.
  • Full administrative support: Self Reflections has a practice manager and administrative officers who have been thoroughly trained and are the glue to the smooth running of our service. Following well developed policies and procedures, the administrative team supports our multi-disciplinary contractors with bookings, rescheduling, managing payments, preparing rooms/files/letters and so much more.
  • Streamlined invoicing: Our practice manager prepares the fortnightly contractor invoices and provides a list of any outstanding notes/letters. This allows our contractors to stay on top of their workload while not adding any more to it.
  • Systems and technology: We are proud to be the leaders in using online practice management software that simplifies administration in all aspects. We take a paperless approach and have well developed automated systems. In addition, we use modern technology to make every client interaction with Self Reflections as smooth and seamless as possible.
  • Referral base: Self Reflections has developed trusted relationships with local and nearby referring medical practices to offer clinicians a wide range of clients seeking services. This along with our administrative support ensures clinician diaries are always maintained as efficiently as possible.
  • Team connection: It’s easy to feel like a ship in the night when working in private practice. Our team prides itself on connecting regularly in and outside of work.

Selection Criteria

We are looking for psychologists who:

  • Have a passion for client care and psychological practice
  • Are reliable, have excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to form respectful and professional relationships
  • Can work autonomously while actively being part of a team
  • Are an Australian resident
  • Are registered or waiting on a registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Have or can obtain a Medicare Provider registration
  • Current Working with Children and National Police checks
